Relax At Home
Both therapists arrive together, the cushions go down, one start, one finish.
Most couples worry they do not have the space. Almost every Dubai apartment does — a living room with the coffee table pushed aside is plenty.
- About 3 × 3 metres of clear floor — a living room or bedroom both work
- One power socket for a small speaker and a towel warmer
- Building access — tell us the security rules and we handle the rest
- Nothing else. Tables, linens, towels, oils and music all come with us
What couples say
after the room goes quiet.
We booked this for our anniversary and honestly I expected it to feel awkward — two strangers, two tables, our living room. It wasn’t like that at all. They arrived together, moved the coffee table themselves before I could offer, and had everything set up while I was still making tea. Same…
Babymoon Couple Massage in Dubai
A babymoon booking is usually the last stretch of time a couple gets to themselves before everything changes, and a massage is one of the few things on the list that genuinely helps rather than just marking the occasion. The difficulty is that most couple massage offerings aren’t set up for it — one partner needs a properly adapted session and the other doesn’t, and spas frequently handle that badly.
A babymoon couple massage at home means two DHA-licensed therapists arriving together: one delivering a prenatal-adapted side-lying session with proper cushioning and pregnancy-appropriate technique, the other delivering a completely standard massage at full pressure to whichever technique the partner wants. Both start and finish on the same clock.
This page sets out exactly what the adapted session involves, when it can and cannot be booked, and what we will not do regardless of how it’s asked.
The Rules, Stated First
These are not negotiable and they are not adjusted on request.
Second trimester onward only. From week thirteen. First-trimester bookings are declined without exception — not because massage is proven harmful, but because the first trimester carries the highest natural miscarriage risk and no responsible service puts itself or you in the position of that coincidence. We will decline politely and suggest booking after week thirteen.
A doctor’s approval is required. Not a form to sign, but a genuine conversation you’ve had with your own doctor or midwife. We ask at booking. If you haven’t had it, have it first.
No face-down positioning at any stage. Pregnancy tables with a belly cut-out are not used — they place unsupported strain on the lower back and the position is unnecessary.
No lying flat on the back after the second trimester. The weight of the uterus can compress the vena cava and reduce blood flow. Side-lying or well-supported semi-reclined only.
The abdomen is not worked. At any stage, in any trimester, under any circumstances. This is not a preference to be overridden.
No deep tissue, trigger point, or firm sustained pressure. Moderate throughout.
No hot stone, no candle massage, no heat-based technique. Elevated core temperature is avoided in pregnancy and these are excluded entirely.
Certain points are avoided. Specific points around the ankles, heels and between thumb and forefinger are traditionally avoided during pregnancy. We avoid them as standard without needing to be asked.
Most essential oils are excluded. The session runs unscented or with a limited pregnancy-appropriate selection only.
Any complication means checking again. Pre-eclampsia, high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, placenta previa, a history of preterm labour, bleeding, or any high-risk flag — your doctor’s specific guidance governs, and we may decline based on what they say.
What the Adapted Session Actually Involves
Side-lying with full support. You lie on your side with a cushion under the head, a bolster between the knees, a support under the bump and often one behind the back. The therapists bring all of it. The position is genuinely comfortable and most women in later pregnancy find it more comfortable than how they normally sleep.
Both sides worked. Roughly half the session on each side, with the therapist helping you turn between them.
What’s worked: the lower back — usually the region carrying the most and the reason most babymoon sessions get booked; the hips and glutes, where the changing gait puts load; the shoulders and upper back; the legs, with gentle upward strokes; the feet and ankles, carefully and avoiding the traditional pressure points; the neck, scalp, arms and hands.
What’s avoided: the abdomen entirely; deep pressure anywhere; the specific traditional points; and any area your doctor has flagged.
Pacing built around repositioning. Turning takes time and the session allows for it rather than rushing.
Swelling and fluid. Gentle upward strokes through the legs help with the fluid retention most women get in later pregnancy. Notable or sudden swelling — particularly in the hands and face — is something to raise with your doctor rather than treat with massage.
The Partner’s Session
Nothing about the other table is restricted.
The partner books whatever they actually want: Swedish, deep tissue, Thai on a mat, aromatherapy, hot stone, reflexology — at full pressure, full length, full intensity. The presence of a pregnancy on the other table changes nothing about theirs.
This matters more than it sounds. Babymoon bookings are frequently the point at which the non-pregnant partner has spent several months doing more of everything, and the session is genuinely for them too. Book it that way.
The common split: prenatal-adapted for one, deep tissue for the other. It’s the most-booked babymoon combination we deliver.
By Stage of Pregnancy
First trimester, weeks one to twelve: not offered. Book from week thirteen.
Second trimester, weeks thirteen to twenty-seven: the best window. Nausea has usually settled, energy is better, the bump is manageable and the position is comfortable. Ninety minutes works well. If you’re booking one babymoon session, book it here.
Third trimester, weeks twenty-eight to thirty-six: still very good, and often when it’s most needed — the lower back, hips and legs are carrying the most. Sixty minutes is usually the better length; the position gets tiring beyond that. More repositioning, more cushioning, gentler throughout.
Late third trimester, week thirty-seven onward: available with your doctor’s specific clearance. Many women find it genuinely helpful. Some doctors prefer to stop massage near term; theirs is the view that counts.
Postnatal: a different session with different considerations. Generally from around six weeks after a vaginal delivery and later after a caesarean, and always with your doctor’s clearance.
What It Helps With
Being honest about the claims.
Lower back and hip pain — the most common complaint in later pregnancy, and the one massage most reliably helps with. Gentle work through the lower back, glutes and hips relieves real discomfort.
Leg heaviness and mild fluid retention — gentle upward strokes help. Not a treatment for oedema, and significant swelling goes to your doctor.
Sleep — most women in the third trimester sleep badly. A session in the evening frequently produces the best night in weeks, and this is the outcome couples report most often.
Neck and shoulder tension — the postural changes affect the upper body too, and this gets overlooked.
Simply being touched and cared for — underrated, and for a lot of women in late pregnancy the session’s actual value.
What it does not do: it does not induce labour, it does not turn a baby, it does not treat any pregnancy condition, and it is not a substitute for antenatal care. Anyone claiming otherwise is not being straight with you.
We are a licensed home massage service, not a medical provider. Nothing here is medical advice.
When to Postpone or Skip
Any bleeding, cramping or unusual pain: postpone and speak to your doctor.
Reduced fetal movement: contact your doctor immediately; the massage is irrelevant by comparison.
Pre-eclampsia, high blood pressure or severe swelling: your doctor’s guidance governs entirely.
A history of preterm labour or any high-risk classification: doctor’s specific clearance required, and we may still decline.
Placenta previa or other placental complications: doctor’s guidance governs.
Fever, infection or feeling generally unwell: postpone.
If you simply don’t feel like it on the day: postpone. We move the booking without fuss and without charge.
The Practical Side
What to wear: undress to your own comfort level, as with any massage. Many women in later pregnancy prefer to keep more on, which is entirely fine. Draping is continuous and only the region being worked is uncovered.
Getting on and off the table: the therapist helps. Say if you need a hand, more time, or a different arrangement of cushions.
Speak up during the session. Comfort changes quickly in pregnancy. If a position stops working, say so and it changes immediately. This is expected rather than an inconvenience.
Bathroom breaks are normal and the session pauses without anyone minding.
The room: slightly warmer than usual, lights down, phone in another room.
Timing: evening sessions tend to produce the best sleep. Morning sessions suit if the day has other plans.
Booking a Babymoon Session
Tell us how many weeks at booking, and anything your doctor has said. The session is planned around it.
Confirm the doctor’s approval. We ask, and the answer matters.
A week’s notice is comfortable.
Book while you still feel like it. Plenty of couples plan a babymoon session for week thirty-six and find that by then they’d rather not move at all. The second trimester and early third are when it’s most enjoyable.
It can be repeated. Many couples book monthly through the second and third trimesters rather than once. It is a sensible way to use the service.
Pricing
One figure covers both partners — both therapists, both tables, all cushions and bolsters, linens, towels, oils, and the travel. Quoted in the message before you book and matched at the door.
No surcharge for the prenatal adaptation, no charge for the pregnancy cushioning, and no premium for either partner’s chosen technique.
Coverage Across Dubai
Babymoon couple massage runs to every area we serve — the coastal belt, the central districts, the villa belt, the eastern corridor, old Dubai’s quarters, the southern reach and across into Sharjah.
Arrival windows vary honestly by distance: coastal and central inside about an hour, villa belt and eastern corridor around an hour and a quarter, far southern communities and Sharjah at an hour and a half with half a day’s notice. Each area page quotes its own window.
Frequently Asked Questions — Babymoon Couple Massage Dubai
How far along do we need to be?
Second trimester onward — from week thirteen, with your doctor’s approval. First-trimester bookings are declined without exception.
Do we really need to check with a doctor?
Yes, and we ask at booking. It’s a conversation with your own doctor or midwife rather than paperwork, and it matters most where there’s any complication or high-risk flag.
How do you position someone who’s pregnant?
Side-lying with full cushioning — head, between the knees, under the bump and behind the back. Never face-down, and never flat on the back after the second trimester.
Is the abdomen worked?
Never, at any stage, under any circumstances. That rule isn’t adjusted on request.
Can my partner still have deep tissue?
Nothing about their table is restricted — deep tissue beside the prenatal-adapted session is the most-booked babymoon combination we deliver.
Can I have hot stone or candle massage?
No — heat-based techniques are excluded entirely in pregnancy, without exception.
Does it help with back pain?
It’s the most reliable thing massage does in pregnancy — gentle work through the lower back, hips and glutes relieves genuine discomfort. It doesn’t treat any pregnancy condition.
When in the pregnancy is best?
Second trimester or early third, at ninety or sixty minutes respectively. Later than that it’s still valuable but the position gets tiring, so sixty is usually the better choice.
