All we need from you

Most couples worry they do not have the space. Almost every Dubai apartment does — a living room with the coffee table pushed aside is plenty.

  • About 3 × 3 metres of clear floor — a living room or bedroom both work
  • One power socket for a small speaker and a towel warmer
  • Building access — tell us the security rules and we handle the rest
  • Nothing else. Tables, linens, towels, oils and music all come with us
Still unsure whether your room works? Send a photo of it — we will tell you in a minute. Ask us

We booked this for our anniversary and honestly I expected it to feel awkward — two strangers, two tables, our living room. It wasn’t like that at all. They arrived together, moved the coffee table themselves before I could offer, and had everything set up while I was still making tea. Same…

Couple Prenatal Massage in Dubai

Prenatal massage is one of the few things in late pregnancy that reliably helps rather than just being pleasant. The lower back, the hips, the legs and the shoulders all carry load they didn’t before, sleep gets worse every week, and a properly adapted session addresses all of it.

The difficulty with booking it as a couple is that most services handle the adaptation badly, or make the non-pregnant partner an afterthought. A couple prenatal massage at home means two DHA-licensed therapists arriving together: one delivering a correctly adapted side-lying session with proper cushioning, the other delivering a completely standard massage at full pressure to whatever technique the partner wants. Both start and finish on the same clock.

This page sets out exactly what the adapted session involves, what we will not do regardless of how it’s asked, and how the session changes across the trimesters.

The Rules, Stated First

These are not negotiable and they are not adjusted on request.

Second trimester onward only — from week thirteen. First-trimester bookings are declined without exception. Not because massage is proven harmful, but because the first trimester carries the highest natural miscarriage risk and no responsible service places itself or you in the position of that coincidence.

Your doctor’s approval is required. A genuine conversation with your own doctor or midwife, not paperwork. We ask at booking.

No face-down positioning at any stage. Pregnancy tables with a belly cut-out are not used — they place unsupported strain on the lower back, and the position is entirely unnecessary.

No lying flat on the back after the second trimester. The weight of the uterus can compress the vena cava and reduce blood flow. Side-lying or well-supported semi-reclined only.

The abdomen is not worked. At any stage, in any trimester, under any circumstances.

No deep tissue, no trigger point work, no sustained firm pressure. Moderate throughout.

No hot stone, no candle massage, no heat-based technique. Elevated core temperature is avoided in pregnancy.

Specific points are avoided as standard — certain points around the ankles, heels and between thumb and forefinger. We avoid them without being asked.

Most essential oils are excluded. The session runs unscented or with a limited pregnancy-appropriate selection.

Any complication means checking again. Pre-eclampsia, high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, placenta previa, a history of preterm labour, bleeding, or any high-risk classification — your doctor’s specific guidance governs, and we may decline based on it.

What the Adapted Session Actually Involves

Side-lying with full support. You lie on your side with a cushion under the head, a bolster between the knees, a support beneath the bump and usually one behind the back. The therapists carry all of it. Most women in later pregnancy find the supported position more comfortable than how they normally sleep.

Both sides worked. Roughly half the session on each, with the therapist helping you turn between them and the pacing allowing time for it.

What’s worked: the lower back first — the region carrying the most and the main reason these sessions get booked. Then the hips and glutes, where the changing gait puts load. The shoulders and upper back, which the postural shift affects more than people expect. The legs, with gentle upward strokes. The feet and ankles, carefully and avoiding the traditional points. The neck, scalp, arms and hands.

What’s avoided: the abdomen entirely; deep pressure anywhere; the specific traditional points; and any region your doctor has flagged.

Swelling and fluid. Gentle upward strokes through the legs help with the fluid retention most women get in the third trimester. Sudden or significant swelling, particularly in the hands and face, is something to raise with your doctor rather than treat with massage.

The Partner’s Session

Nothing about the other table is restricted in any way.

The partner books whatever they actually want — Swedish, deep tissue, Thai on a mat, aromatherapy, hot stone, reflexology — at full pressure, full length, full intensity. A pregnancy on the other table changes nothing about theirs.

This matters more than it sounds. By the third trimester the non-pregnant partner has usually spent several months doing more of everything, sleeping badly beside someone who sleeps worse, and carrying the practical load. The session is for them too, and it should be booked that way.

The most common combination we deliver: prenatal-adapted on one table, deep tissue on the other.

By Trimester

First trimester, weeks one to twelve. Not offered. Book from week thirteen.

Second trimester, weeks thirteen to twenty-seven. The best window. Nausea has usually settled, energy is better, the bump is manageable and the side-lying position is entirely comfortable. Ninety minutes works well. If you’re booking one session, book it here.

Third trimester, weeks twenty-eight to thirty-six. Often when it’s most needed — the lower back, hips and legs are carrying the most and sleep is at its worst. Sixty minutes is usually the better length, since the position gets tiring beyond that. More repositioning, more cushioning, gentler throughout.

Late third trimester, week thirty-seven onward. Available with your doctor’s specific clearance. Many women find it genuinely helpful. Some doctors prefer to stop massage near term; theirs is the view that counts, not ours and not the internet’s.

Postnatal. A different session with different considerations — generally from around six weeks after a vaginal delivery and later after a caesarean, always with your doctor’s clearance.

Booking It as a Series

The way most couples actually use this, and the better approach than a single booking.

Monthly through the second and third trimesters. A session at around week sixteen, twenty, twenty-four, twenty-eight, thirty-two and thirty-six covers the pregnancy properly and costs no more per session than booking once.

The same therapist pair held throughout. Nothing needs explaining again — the cushioning arrangement, the pressure, the areas that have started hurting, how far along you are. By the fourth session the setup happens without a word.

Adjusted as the pregnancy progresses. Ninety minutes in the second trimester, sixty in the third. Firmer early, gentler later. More time on the lower back as the weeks go on.

Booked into the evening. The session before bed produces the best night’s sleep of the month for a lot of women, which is the outcome most frequently reported back to us.

What It Helps With

Being honest about the claims.

Lower back and hip pain — the most common complaint in later pregnancy and the one massage most reliably relieves. Gentle work through the lower back, glutes and hips addresses real discomfort.

Sleep — most women in the third trimester sleep badly. An evening session frequently produces the best night in weeks.

Leg heaviness and mild fluid retention — gentle upward strokes help. Not a treatment for oedema; significant swelling goes to your doctor.

Neck and shoulder tension — the postural changes affect the upper body too, and this is routinely overlooked.

Simply being cared for — underrated, and for a lot of women late in pregnancy the session’s actual value.

What it does not do: it does not induce labour, it does not turn a baby, it does not treat any pregnancy condition, and it is not a substitute for antenatal care. Anyone claiming otherwise is not being straight with you.

We are a licensed home massage service, not a medical provider. Nothing here is medical advice.

When to Postpone or Skip

Any bleeding, cramping or unusual pain: postpone and speak to your doctor.

Reduced fetal movement: contact your doctor immediately; the massage is irrelevant by comparison.

Pre-eclampsia, high blood pressure or severe swelling: your doctor’s guidance governs entirely.

A history of preterm labour or any high-risk classification: doctor’s specific clearance required, and we may still decline.

Placenta previa or other placental complications: doctor’s guidance governs.

Fever, infection or feeling generally unwell: postpone.

If you simply don’t feel like it on the day: postpone. We move the booking without fuss and without charge, and this happens regularly in the third trimester.

The Practical Side

What to wear. Undress to your own comfort level, as with any massage. Many women in later pregnancy prefer to keep more on, which is entirely fine. Draping is continuous and only the region being worked is uncovered.

Getting on and off the table. The therapist helps. Say if you need a hand, more time, or the cushions rearranged.

Speak up throughout. Comfort changes quickly in pregnancy. If a position stops working, say so and it changes immediately — this is expected rather than an inconvenience.

Bathroom breaks are normal and the session pauses without anyone minding.

The room slightly warmer than usual, lights down, phones elsewhere.

Timing. Evening sessions produce the best sleep. Morning sessions suit if the day has other plans.

Pricing

One figure covers both partners — both therapists, both tables, all pregnancy cushions and bolsters, linens, towels, oils, and the travel. Quoted in the message before you book and matched at the door.

No surcharge for the prenatal adaptation, no charge for the cushioning, and no premium for either partner’s chosen technique.

Coverage Across Dubai

Couple prenatal massage runs to every area we serve — the coastal belt, the central districts, the villa belt, the eastern corridor, old Dubai’s quarters, the southern reach and across into Sharjah.

Arrival windows vary honestly by distance: coastal and central inside about an hour, villa belt and eastern corridor around an hour and a quarter, far southern communities and Sharjah at an hour and a half with half a day’s notice. Each area page quotes its own window.

Frequently Asked Questions — Couple Prenatal Massage Dubai

How far along do we need to be?

Second trimester onward — from week thirteen, with your doctor’s approval. First-trimester bookings are declined without exception.

Do we really need to check with a doctor?

Yes, and we ask at booking. It’s a conversation with your own doctor or midwife rather than paperwork, and it matters most where there’s any complication or high-risk flag.

How is someone pregnant positioned?

Side-lying with full cushioning — head, between the knees, under the bump and behind the back. Never face-down, and never flat on the back after the second trimester.

Is the abdomen worked at all?

Never, at any stage, under any circumstances. That rule isn’t adjusted on request.

Can my partner still have deep tissue?

Nothing about their table is restricted. Deep tissue beside the prenatal-adapted session is the most common combination we deliver.

Can I have hot stone while pregnant?

No — heat-based techniques are excluded entirely in pregnancy, including candle massage, without exception.

How often should I book?

Monthly through the second and third trimesters works well, with the same therapist pair held throughout so nothing needs explaining again.

Does it help with sleep?

It’s the outcome most frequently reported back to us — an evening session often produces the best night’s sleep in weeks during the third trimester.

Book Your Couple Prenatal Massage in Dubai

Check with your doctor, tell us how many weeks and anything they’ve said, book whatever your partner actually wants for the other table, and give us the address and the hour. Two licensed therapists arrive with the cushions, the bolsters and everything else, the adapted session runs exactly as it should, and both of you finish at the same moment — which in the last months of a pregnancy is not a small thing.
