Couple Cupping
Therapy In Dubai.
Two licensed therapists, suction cups applied to the back and shoulders, and honest warning about the circular marks that follow for several days.
What The Cupping

Suction cups placed or glided over oiled skin, lifting tissue rather than compressing it — combined with massage.

Relax At Home
Both therapists arrive together, the tables rise, one start, one finish, gone in ten.
Most couples worry they do not have the space. Almost every Dubai apartment does — a living room with the coffee table pushed aside is plenty.
- About 3 × 3 metres of clear floor — a living room or bedroom both work
- One power socket for a small speaker and a towel warmer
- Building access — tell us the security rules and we handle the rest
- Nothing else. Cups, tables, linens, oils and music all come with us
What couples say
after the room goes quiet.
We booked this for our anniversary and honestly I expected it to feel awkward — two strangers, two tables, our living room. It wasn’t like that at all. They arrived together, moved the coffee table themselves before I could offer, and had everything set up while I was still making tea. Same…
Couple Cupping Therapy in Dubai
Cupping uses suction cups placed on the skin to lift tissue upward rather than pressing it down — the opposite direction from every other technique on our menu. It’s combined with massage rather than delivered alone, and it leaves distinctive circular marks that last anywhere from three days to two weeks.
That last point is the most important thing on this page, so it appears near the top rather than buried in a note: if you have anything in the next fortnight that involves bare shoulders or a backless dress, don’t book cupping until afterwards.
A couple cupping session at home in Dubai means two DHA-licensed therapists, two tables, and both sessions on the same clock — frequently as a split, with cupping on one table and massage alone on the other.
Dry Cupping Only
Stated clearly because the distinction matters.
We provide dry cupping. Suction cups applied to intact skin, creating negative pressure that lifts the tissue. Nothing breaks the skin. Nothing is drawn out.
We do not provide wet cupping — hijama. That involves small incisions in the skin and the drawing of blood, and it is a medical procedure requiring a licensed clinical setting, medical waste handling and practitioners qualified for it. It is not something a home massage service should offer and we don’t.
If you’re looking for hijama, a licensed clinic is where to go. If you’re looking for dry cupping combined with massage, that’s what this page describes.
The Marks, Explained Properly
They are not bruises. A bruise is caused by impact rupturing capillaries. Cupping marks are caused by suction drawing blood toward the surface in an area of stagnant circulation. Different mechanism, similar appearance.
They’re circular. Distinct round marks where each cup sat, typically two to three inches across.
The colour varies. Pale pink to deep purple. Darker generally indicates more congestion in that area, and the same spot usually marks less on subsequent sessions.
They last three days to two weeks. Most commonly around a week. Darker marks last longer.
They’re not painful. Slight tenderness sometimes, but the marks themselves don’t hurt.
They’re visible. Very. In a backless dress, a low-cut top, at the beach, in the gym changing room, or in photographs. People will ask.
They don’t fade faster with anything. Water, movement and time. That’s it.
Where they go: back, shoulders, upper arms and glutes — the regions cupping is applied to.
The Timing Rules
Given the marks, these matter more than for any other treatment we offer.
Not within two weeks of a wedding. Yours or anyone’s, if you’ll be photographed.
Not before a beach or pool day. Both for visibility and because marked skin is more sun-sensitive.
Not before an event with bare shoulders — a dress, a formal occasion, a photoshoot.
Not before a holiday where you’ll be in swimwear.
Not before anything that matters visually in the next fortnight.
The good timing: the start of a quiet period, a stretch with nothing scheduled, or right after an event rather than before it.
How often: weekly is fine for regular use. Leave three or four days between sessions on the same area at minimum.
What the Session Involves
Oil applied first. The skin needs to be oiled for the cups to seal properly and for glided cupping to work.
Cups placed. Modern cupping uses silicone cups squeezed and released, or plastic cups with a hand pump. Fire cupping — heating glass cups to create suction — is traditional but carries burn risk and we don’t use it.
Static cupping. Cups left in place for five to fifteen minutes while the therapist works elsewhere. This produces the strongest marks.
Glided cupping. A cup with lighter suction moved across oiled skin in strokes. Feels like a reverse massage — pulling rather than pressing. Produces lighter, more diffuse marking.
Massage around and after. The cups are part of a session rather than the whole of it. Hand massage precedes and follows, and continues while static cups are in place.
Regions. Back and shoulders primarily. Glutes and thighs sometimes. Cups need reasonably flat surfaces to seal, so they don’t work everywhere.
How It Feels
Tight and pulling. The dominant sensation, and the opposite of every other massage technique.
Unfamiliar the first time. Most people describe it as strange rather than unpleasant.
Not painful. If it hurts, the suction is too strong — say so and it’s reduced immediately.
Static cups feel odder than glided ones. Sitting still with cups attached is the part first-timers find most unusual.
A slight ache during static cupping is normal and eases when the cup comes off.
Warmth and looseness afterwards in the worked area.
Possible mild tiredness in the hours after, which is common and passes.
What It Honestly Does and Doesn’t Do
What it does: lifts and separates tissue in a way compression can’t, increases local blood flow noticeably, and frequently produces a sense of looseness and released tightness in the worked area. Many people find it helps with upper back and shoulder tightness in particular.
What people report consistently: relief from stubborn back tightness, better range in the shoulders, and a distinctive light feeling afterwards.
What it doesn’t do: it doesn’t remove toxins, it doesn’t detoxify anything, and it doesn’t draw impurities out of the body. The marks are blood near the surface, not toxins being extracted. Anyone telling you otherwise is repeating a claim that isn’t true.
It doesn’t treat any medical condition, cure anything, or substitute for medical care.
The evidence is mixed. The research on cupping is limited and of variable quality. What’s consistent is the subjective reporting, which is why people keep booking it.
We are a licensed home massage service, not a medical provider. Nothing here is medical advice.
Who Should Not Book It
More contraindications than most techniques.
Blood thinners, anticoagulants or clotting disorders. Cupping draws blood to the surface and the marking will be considerably more severe. Do not book without your doctor’s approval.
Easy bruising or low platelet counts. Same reason.
Pregnancy. Not offered. The prenatal-adapted session is the alternative, second trimester onward with a doctor’s approval.
Skin conditions, open wounds, rashes, eczema or psoriasis in the area. The suction aggravates them.
Sunburn. Postpone entirely.
Fresh tattoos. Not until fully healed.
Varicose veins. Cups are not placed over them.
Deep vein thrombosis, current or suspected. Do not book; see a doctor.
Active cancer or current treatment. Not without your oncologist’s approval.
Severe anaemia. Mention at booking; we may decline.
Very thin or fragile skin, and the elderly. Suction may be inappropriate. Mention at booking.
Diabetes with skin complications or reduced sensation. Mention at booking.
Fever, infection or acute inflammation. Postpone.
Recent surgery. The area waits until fully healed and cleared.
Hygiene
Worth stating since cups are reusable equipment.
Cups are cleaned and disinfected between every client, without exception, using appropriate disinfectant and a full cleaning protocol.
Single-use linens on both tables as standard, every booking.
Fresh oil applied from a dispensing bottle rather than a shared pot.
Fire cupping is not used — the burn risk in a home environment isn’t acceptable and modern silicone and pump cups achieve the same suction safely.
The Couple Split
Most cupping bookings are splits, and there’s an obvious reason: the marks.
One partner takes cupping with massage. The other takes massage alone — Swedish, deep tissue, whatever suits. Both start and finish together, and the price is the same as two matching sessions.
This is the sensible arrangement for most couples, particularly where one of you has an event coming up and the other doesn’t.
Session Formats
Cupping with a sixty-minute massage. Cups on the back and shoulders, hand massage around and after. The standard booking.
Cupping with a ninety-minute massage. Cupping on the back plus a fuller body massage. The length most people take.
Cupping alone isn’t offered as a full session — it’s a fifteen to twenty minute component, not an hour’s treatment, and we won’t sell it as one.
Pricing
One figure covers both partners — both therapists, both tables, the cups, all linens and towels, the oils, and the travel. Quoted in the message before you book and matched at the door.
No surcharge for cupping, no per-therapist multiplication, no travel fee by area, and no late-slot premium. Cupping and massage on one table with massage alone on the other costs the same as two standard sessions.
Coverage Across Dubai
Couple cupping therapy runs to every area we serve — the coastal belt, the central districts, the villa belt, the eastern corridor, old Dubai’s quarters, the southern reach and across into Sharjah.
Arrival windows vary honestly by distance: coastal and central inside about an hour, villa belt and eastern corridor around an hour and a quarter, far southern communities and Sharjah at an hour and a half with half a day’s notice.
Frequently Asked Questions — Couple Cupping Therapy Dubai
How long do the marks last?
Three days to two weeks, most commonly around a week. They’re very visible, so don’t book within a fortnight of anything involving bare shoulders.
Are the marks bruises?
No — a bruise comes from impact rupturing capillaries. Cupping marks come from suction drawing blood toward the surface. Similar appearance, different mechanism, and they don’t hurt.
Do you do hijama or wet cupping?
No. Wet cupping involves incisions and blood and is a medical procedure requiring a licensed clinical setting. We provide dry cupping only, combined with massage.
Does it hurt?
It feels tight and pulling rather than painful — unfamiliar the first time but not unpleasant. If it hurts, the suction is too strong and it’s reduced immediately.
Does it remove toxins?
No. The marks are blood near the skin’s surface, not toxins being extracted. That claim is repeated widely and isn’t true.
Can I book it if I’m on blood thinners?
Not without your doctor’s approval. Cupping draws blood to the surface and the marking will be considerably more severe on anticoagulants.
Can we book cupping for one of us only?
Most of these bookings are exactly that — cupping and massage on one table, massage alone on the other, both starting together, same price.
Can I have cupping alone without a massage?
Not as a full session. Cupping is a fifteen to twenty minute component rather than an hour’s treatment, and we won’t sell it as one.
Book Your Couple Cupping Therapy in Dubai
Check your calendar first — nothing with bare shoulders for the next fortnight — then tell us which region and book massage alone for the other table if the marks would be inconvenient for your partner. Two licensed therapists arrive with sanitised cups and everything else, both tables rise in your own room, and the tightness across your upper back gets lifted rather than pressed, which is the one thing every other technique on the menu can’t do.
Real couples,
real evenings.
Reading for
the two of you.
